Help us campaign today for a better tomorrow!
Hello, my name is Sidney Moore. I believe it's important for you to know that I am a family man, instilled with values by my mother, grandfather, grandmother, elders, and some extended family members.
The places I've lived in and around the country have taught me a great deal about other people's cultures, what matters to them, and how their values can impact society. Learning about new cultures has not only reinforced some of my previous ideologies but has also helped me solidify my understanding of how the world operates on sociological, psychological, physical, emotional, and spiritual levels. It all circles back to values, which I believe are lacking in the world today.
What I've described is what I call 'Life Lessons.' Experiencing life is the most vital education one can receive. Indeed, classroom learning is significant, but real-life experiences can teach you far more than what is possible in a classroom setting.
I am campaigning for the position of Thornton Township Supervisor, placing my faith and trust in the almighty God for guidance and wisdom.
The fear of God is the beginning of Knowledge.
As your Township supervisor I will be a dedicated servant. Under my administration the Township will again be known for its wholesome, resilient, and beautiful residential communities they once were.
Ladies and gentlemen, "Righteousness exalts a nation:" by simply doing what is right, we can elevate the conscience of the community. Real change will occur if we practice and uphold the words given by God to the founding fathers of this nation, as stated in the Declaration of Independence:
"We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable rights, among which are Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness."
The status quo will no longer be tolerated as standard practice in this Township, and it is not the time for politicians or celebrity gatekeepers to occupy the role of Thornton Township Supervisor.
My top issues are:
1. Coordinate and support the execution of a forensic audit to assess the Township's financial status.
Collaborate with Aldermen, Trustees, State Senators, State Legislators, the business community, and residents to explore the best solutions and options for the Township's progress.
3. Safer street and better roads
4. Take a proactive approach by identifying methods to boost funding for community centers across the Townships. This will assist families and individuals in accessing resources for achieving optimal physical and mental health.
"A healthy environment contributes to the foundation of a healthy community."
5. Establish a Business and Community Alliance Department dedicated to training and investment, aimed at assisting individuals who wish to start their own businesses, as well as aiding existing companies in finding workers.
6. Advocating for Lower Taxes - I am collaborating with tax experts and CPAs to explore strategies for reducing property taxes.
7. Advocate for mental health facilities - Numerous healthcare facilities are experiencing staff shortages. Utilizing the items listed above can assist in addressing the issue of finding help for the numerous healthcare businesses in need of workers.
Upon my election as supervisor, this great Township will uphold "fairness and decency" as its guiding principles.
Are you prepared for this positive shift?
Placing "the citizen" as my foremost priority, I now seek your valuable vote to make this a reality for all of us.
LET'S NOT FALL FOR THE SAME OLD TRICKS
The general election for the U.S. presidency is significant, yet local elections are equally crucial as they can impact American lives for years to come. Positions such as judges, state senators, aldermen, and even major city mayors hold considerable influence. Local elections govern school board decisions, state and local taxation, and the distribution and allocation of funds across counties in Illinois.
Experience - My involvement in politics dates back to 2006, encompassing roles from campaign management to canvassing, signature collection, and marketing. This has provided me with a solid understanding of political operations and their mechanisms.
It has been observed that numerous elected officials who have previously held office have repeatedly shown a lack of integrity, fairness, and impartiality. What is necessary today is for us to awaken and recognize that we have been deceived, misled, and taken off course. No more!
Executive profiles – The strength of a company lies in its executive leadership. I am such a leader. With over 35 years of experience as an entrepreneur, business owner, and manager, I have overseen hundreds of employees, navigated financial responsibilities, met deadlines, and made pivotal decisions.
My diverse skill set, and training have provided me with remarkable life experiences, such as working in real estate, activism, social services, union support, political campaigns, commercial driving, and labor. These roles have honed my ability to perceive situations from a three-dimensional perspective, potentially giving me an edge over other candidates.
I find myself here after listening to the voices of the people. I have witnessed their cries of disappointment, sadness, and profound concern about the events unfolding around them. There are some dire situations poised to occur across the country, and I cannot simply sit back and watch everything fall apart without attempting to help. Thus, here I am.
I have been involved in numerous campaigns, starting with Barack Obama's call for volunteers in '06. Since then, I have progressed from a Campaign Manager role, engaging in canvassing, to launching my own political campaign for the office of Secretary of State.
THANK YOU FOR YOUR CONTINUED SUPPORT! YOUR DONATION WILL GO A LONG WAY TOWARD US WINNING THIS ELECTION.
Property Tax Relief Grant
Applications are due by midnight January 8, 2025.
The Property Tax Relief Grant (PTRG) was created with the passage of Evidence-Based Funding and modified by Public Act 101 – 0017. Districts are ranked in order of grant priority by a value of district Adjusted Operating Tax Rate divided by the Average Operating Tax Rate for districts within each organization type. Grants will be awarded in the order of that ranking.
Determining the maximum possible abatement amount will now be completed in 2 steps:
These 2 steps result in the Maximum Abatement amount. Calculating the grant amount is equal to the Maximum Abatement multiplied by the Property Tax Multiplier or (1 – LCP2).
If there are insufficient funds available to fully fund the initial possible grant amount of the last district to qualify for the grant, a revised calculation is made. The final district qualifying may receive a grant equal to the remaining funds appropriated for PTRG. The abatement amount for that district is backed into by dividing the grant amount possible by the Property Tax Multiplier.
Property Tax Relief Grant amounts received in FY 2025 will be included in future calculations of those districts' Base Funding Minimum amounts, per 18-8.15 of the School Code. Per Public Act 101 – 0017, participating districts are required to abate taxes for 2 consecutive years to receive the grant in their Base Funding Minimum. Failure to abate in the second year will result in the removal of the grant from the district's Base Funding Minimum in the following and all future years.
Future grant amounts are subject to appropriations.
There will be $49.8 million in new Property Tax Relief Grants (PTRG) for FY 2025. All prior year grant recipients will continue to receive the PTRG in their Base Funding Minimum.
